Calvary Charismatic Centre is Christian church which has grown to be a diverse community of people from all different ages, stages and walks of life.

HOW IT ALL

STARTED

In 1984, God gave Ps Ransford Obeng the founder and head pastor of Calvary Charismatic Centre a vision to start a non-denominational English church in the city of Kumasi (Capital of the Ashanti Region in Ghana) that will spread the good news throughout the country and to the ends of the earth.

This was a new direction that the Lord was leading him into. The direction was to reach out to the non-English speaking residents, guests and students in Kumasi and its environs, no matter their cultural, ethnic and language barriers.

 CHANGING AND GROWING

TOGETHER

EXPONENTIAL

GROWTH

Ps Ransford solely financed the church from the beginning until the church became self-sufficient to be able to cater for its needs. The first service was held at the ministries’ canteen (currently opposite the Maranatha Church, KMA) at 8:00am on Sunday, 7th April, 1985 with a hundred people in attendance.

The church later moved to the Upper Room (Adum) but after a while, settled in Buokrom, the main church complex for many years. In May 2005. arrangement began to build a new facility at Ayigya, Kumasi. By God’s grace, the building is now in use. We invite you to join us this and every Sunday at 8:30am. CCC currently has a membership of over 6000. The church also has 536 churches planted across the country and missionaries and partner churches around the world. CCC also supports many churches from other denominations.

On 7th April 1985, Calvary Charismatic Centre was officially inaugurated at the mission’s canteen at Adum, Kumasi. It was an outstanding grand opening of the first English church in Kumasi; a church driven by Christ centred teachings, unique worship experience with contemporary based music, excellency, simplicity and modesty of church leadership. Despite criticism from all angles that an English church will not survive in Kumasi but here we are today. All these came into realisation and success because of the very humble and exceptional nature of Rev. Ransford Obeng.

Committed to the Christian faith and his ministerial duties Rev. Ransford Obeng can be described as an icon of humility and competency and is respected by many. Rev. Ransford Obeng has been a regular feature on a cast of guest speakers at ICGC’s destiny summit, this is an annual conference that has featured global pastoral leadership persons aside the host Rev. Mensah Otabil. Rev. Ransford Obeng is the only Ghanaian who gets featured at this high profile international conference.

Currently, he is serving as the senior pastor of Calvary Charismatic Centre. Rev. Ransford Obeng has trained many ministers into key leadership positions. He is dedicated to the mission of the church which is to produce committed Christians who will devote themselves to the preaching of God’s word, prayer and fellowship and equip them to fulfil the great commission. Rev. Ransford does not practise an arm church ministry, he is very involving and participates in every church activity. His heart of giving is demonstrated in his blood donation exercise which was imitated by him that comes off every year on his birthday.

He met his adorable wife, Mrs Joyce Obeng in Kumasi and as a responsible teacher, husband and father, he evenly fulfils his responsibility to his wife, his two children, Joshua and Eunice and four grandchildren. As a father, he trained his children in the principles of God and now his son Ps. Joshua Obeng is following in his footsteps and excelling greatly.
